Skazka o tsare Saltane

The story is about three sisters. The youngest is chosen by Tsar Saltan to be his wife. He orders the other two sisters to be his royal cook and weaver. They become jealous of their younger sister. When the tsar goes off to war, the tsaritsa gives birth to a son, Prince Gvidon (Gvidón.) The older sisters arrange to have the tsaritsa and the child sealed in a barrel and thrown into the sea. The sea takes pity on them and casts them on the shore of a remote island, Buyan. The son, having quickly grown while in the barrel, goes hunting. He ends up saving an enchanted swan from a kite bird. The swan creates a city for Prince Gvidon to rule, but he is homesick, so the swan turns him into a mosquito to help him. In this guise, he visits Tsar Saltan's court, where he stings his aunt in the eye and escapes. Back in his realm, the swan gives Gvidon a magical squirrel. But he continues to pine for home, so the swan transforms him again, this time into a fly. In this guise Prince Gvidon visits Saltan's court again and he stings his older aunt in the eye. The third time, the Prince is transformed into a bumblebee and stings the nose of his grandmother. In the end, The Prince expresses a desire for a bride instead of his old home, at which point the swan is revealed to be a beautiful princess, whom he marries. He is visited by the Tsar, who is overjoyed to find his newly married son and daughter-in-law.

一如既往，影片的开端，小老鼠杰瑞又称为狡猾顽皮的大猫汤姆戏耍的玩物。汤姆用钓鱼线拴住杰瑞，先放他到处跑，然后强硬地将钓鱼线收回来。杰瑞对此颇感无奈，任凭汤姆将其戏耍，不过时不时还会想出许多鬼花招反戏耍。终于他不再忍受，摆脱掉鱼线逃出门外。刚好垃圾桶旁有一只棕色的野猫正寻找食物，杰瑞主动跳到对方怀中，大献殷勤，以示自己愿意成为野猫的食物。野猫喜出望外，而随即赶来的汤姆则大为光火。汤姆有意抢回老鼠，谁知野猫无比凶悍，毫不留情地赶走了他。 　　在此之后，聪明机灵的小老鼠挑唆两只贪婪愚笨的猫，展开一场老鼠争夺战……

圣诞前夜

又是一年圣诞夜，天空中飘起了鹅毛大雪。所有的人都沉浸在幸福之中，连洞中的小老鼠杰瑞都不例外。他的洞口摆着一个精致的老鼠夹子，上面放置着用红绸缎包扎的奶酪。当然这个警觉的小家伙不会轻易上当，他试探几次之后还是选择放弃。杰瑞来到圣诞树和礼物中间，尽情玩耍，敞开肚子吃喝，偏偏不小心吵醒了正在酣睡的汤姆。在这个节日的夜晚，两个冤家又展开一番激烈的追逐，他们你来我往，互不相让，打破了圣诞夜的温暖与宁静。高潮之处，杰瑞甚至被扔到了屋外…… 　　本片是Tom and Jerry系列第3部作品，并获得1941年奥斯卡金像奖最佳动画短片提名。

白雪覆盖的郊外，憨直的普鲁托正将身体和鼻子贴在雪地上，他仔细地嗅着，寻找可能藏在雪底下的食物。正在这时，他听到一声声急切而稚嫩的小猫呼救声。原来在尚未封冻小河中央，一只刚出生不久的小猫被人装进布袋里，扎紧口后残忍地扔进河里，打算将其溺死。普鲁托不明就里，将袋子捞了上来。湿漉漉的小猫并未注意到普鲁托疑惑厌恶的神情，反而对救了她的大狗格外亲近。当然普鲁托可不是那么低姿态的狗狗，他傲慢地赶走小猫，趾高气昂回到家中，谁知小猫竟然也跟了回来。可是当看到主人米老鼠对小猫的喜爱之情，普鲁托再也无法掩饰内心的嫉妒，他灵魂中罪恶的一面占了上风…… 　　本片荣获1942年奥斯卡金像奖最佳动画短片奖。

An expressionistic interpretation of 'Danse macabre' by Camille Saint-Saëns. Conventional cel animation and pen drawings were done by Norman McLaren directly on 35 mm film stock.

Short and Suite

An experiment in film animation in which 'stars' and 'stripes' perform acrobatics to a sprightly march tune. The film was made without a camera, by Norman McLaren drawing and colouring directly on film. The title is in eight languages. Rereleased with multilingual titles in 1949.
